"It takes a night to make it dawn
It takes day to make you yawn, brother
It takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is
It takes some fears to make you trust
It takes those tears to make it rust"
- Life Is Wonderful - Jason Mraz
life sucks sometimes.
common mantra? heard once too often, but still well used...
but take a step back and think about it:
how would you know what's great about it if you've never experienced the crappy parts of it?
how can you be happy over a day of having great hair if you've never had a bad hair day?
how can you appreciate a friend if you've never had an enemy?
how can you enjoy fantabulous royce chocs if you haven't eaten cheap chocs?
how can you value loyalty if you've never been betrayed?
putting it simply, you can't have the good without the bad. which basically sums up what life is all about. you'll certainly have the inevitable draggy, drabby, dinky days where you wish you could just curl up in bed, snug in your covers, and stay there for eternity.
i have plenty of those days. like today. and yesterday. and the day before. and...
ha.
but i've also got those days where i'm looking forward to the day's events, and i'll be out of bed bright and early like a kid on christmas. or how about those days that start out as not-so-special days, where you carry out your daily activities with the same routine as always...then chance upon something rare and wonderful?
if you didn't get out would you have seen it?
just food for thought...
"I believe that life is a game, that life is a cruel joke, and that life is what happens when you're alive and that you might as well lie back and enjoy it." - Neil Gaiman, American Gods
