Once again the new year is here. Yep, we've stepped into 2006. Whoopee dee doo.
It's actually depressing to think about the new year actually. It means becoming a year older, school starting, blah blah blah.
At least there's World Cup to look forward to this year! Yea Germany! Beams.
Just came back from China (which obviously means tons of shopping. muahaha.) and now down with a blardie annoying cough. Urk. Not a good way to start the new year.
On a happier note, at least i got to watch NARNIA!!! joy, joy, joy :) Enjoyed it greatly with its brilliant filming, thoroughly bringing out the essence of the war from both the WW2 frontier and the Narnia battle for freedom. The cast chosen for the Pevensies were excellent, each playing their character perfectly. And since it's based on CS Lewis's books, of course the story is fantastic. The parallels drawn between WW2 and the Narnia battle is seen vividly as both countries fight for their freedom from an oppressive ruler who chooses to kill at a whim. At the same time, we are made to see the gradual break of innocence from the child Lucy to the big brother Peter who is forced into maturity.
Of course, since it's me, I have to rave about the music! Haha. Harry Gregson-Wiliams wrote an amazing score to suit each and every moment of the film, from the wonder of discovering the wardrobe, to the great epic battle of Narnia. *Gush gush gush*.
Pitifully, I wasn't smart enough to book the tickets and ended up at the third row - and a crick in the neck. Blah. Hehz probably gonna watch it again. I'll see if it's as powerful the second time :)
