I don't know why anyone ever has expectations anymore. It seems like the more expectations you have of people, the more likely they are to disappoint you.

Maybe the way to go is to just lower your expectations until you get to the point where you don't expect anything. At all.

Maybe that might make life just a little easier to bear, because if you don't expect anything, there's really nothing to be disappointed about because there's nothing there. There's no standard for people to fall below.

Maybe it's time to just accept that things are the way they are. People are who they are and expecting anything is just naive. And also because it's just getting too fucking tiring to be constantly disappointed.
