poetry in motion
Sasha Cohen, tragically beautiful Juliet on ice. Discounting the fall and step-out at the start, one of my fave figure skating performances ever.

woohoo!
YAY SPAIN!!!!
Okay, some of you may know that I'm a bit of a Germany fan when it comes to soccer, but I'm also actually a bit of a Spain fan too.
Admittedly, I'm not much of a soccer fan. I have no idea who's in what league in the EPL, and I honestly wouldn't care. I wouldn't stay up late to watch an EPL match.
But when it comes to championship games like the Euro Cup, and of course the World Cup, that's when I start tuning in, although I only start paying attention from around the quarter-finals, if not just the finals. This is partly because I don't have any sports channels (a fact which I bemoan every time a Grand Slam tournament is up, like now. *Whines*) so it's a bit of a pain to drag myself to my sister's place to watch anything.
Still, Starhub was kind enough to air the Euro finals last night, and may I say that it was one helluva match. Germany played with their usual determination, but they were no match for Spain's truly excellent teamwork. In an entirely exciting match, Spain emerged as the well-deserved winner.
So one more time:

the new craze
Wonders of wonders, I did something today that would surprise anyone who knows me.
I EXERCISED.
Well. Sort of.
Played tennis with my sis and bro-in-law, which really was more of me hitting the ball over the net, then running like a maniac to catch my sister's wild balls. So, there's the exercise.
Ironically, since I'm still sick with a flu and a non-existent voice, I should actually be resting. Instead I'm off playing tennis at four in the afternoon. Hm.
On the bright side, I have now rekindled my interest in playing, so am going to finally buy a pair of track shoes since my mom's ones are giving me blisters. (And yes, I can hear all of you gasping "YOU DON'T HAVE TRACK SHOES?!")
Also, yay I have an excuse to go shopping! Whee :)
So. Who's up for some tennis?

too cool for words
Absolutely amazing. My favourite musical (although not my favourite cast, but what the hey) with one of the most amazing ice skating acts I've seen.

Okay minus that little bitty loss to Italy :( which France will totally trash tomorrow night! (If for any reason other than "It's Zizou's last match. Let him win.")
